This SLA defines the service standards, timelines, responsibilities, and limitations for Career & Educational Marketing services provided by Bertum. It applies to adverts, listings, promotional posts, sponsored placements, and marketing support that promotes opportunities, programmes, services, events, institutions, or education and career-related products.
1) Service overview
Career & Educational Marketing helps advertisers publish and promote offers to Bertum’s audience through approved placements. Placements may include website listings, featured posts, category pages, newsletters, community announcements, and other agreed digital channels.
The goal is visibility and reach, not guaranteed sales, admissions, registrations, or conversions.
2) Scope and deliverables
Deliverables depend on the package purchased. Typical deliverables may include publishing an advert/listing, categorising it correctly, displaying it for the agreed period, and providing basic updates or corrections within the agreed limits.
Where applicable, we may offer add-ons such as featured placement, priority categories, boosted visibility periods, or inclusion in a marketing roundup.
Not included unless explicitly agreed in writing: paid ad management on external platforms, influencer campaigns, direct outreach, guaranteed lead numbers, guaranteed clicks, or guaranteed revenue outcomes.
3) Submission standards and content requirements
You agree to provide complete and accurate information. Submissions should include: title, category, clear description, contact details, and pricing where applicable.
Pricing must be clear and well defined. You must state whether prices are per semester, per course, per term, per resource, per subscription period, or per month where applicable. If your offer includes optional costs, you must state what is included and what is not included.
You must upload clear images and videos where available and ensure you have rights to use all submitted content.
We may reject or request edits for content that is misleading, incomplete, overly vague, contains prohibited claims, violates laws, infringes copyright, promotes unsafe or discriminatory practices, or conflicts with our platform rules.
4) Review, approval, and publishing timelines
All marketing submissions are subject to review for clarity, compliance, and quality. Review is not a guarantee of endorsement.
If your submission meets requirements and payment is confirmed, we target publishing within 1 to 3 working days. If edits are required, publishing timelines depend on how quickly you submit corrections.
We may schedule publication for a specific date if your package supports scheduled posting.
5) Placement duration, visibility, and performance expectations
Your advert is displayed for the duration stated in your package (for example 7 days, 14 days, 30 days). Visibility depends on user traffic, seasonality, category popularity, and competition from other listings.
We do not guarantee a specific number of views, clicks, enquiries, leads, admissions, registrations, or sales. If analytics are provided, they are shared as informational indicators and may not capture all user actions.
6) Edits, renewals, and removals
Minor edits such as fixing typos, updating contact details, or adjusting pricing can be requested after publishing. Unless your package states otherwise, we target completing minor edits within 1 to 2 working days.
Major changes such as replacing the entire offer, changing the category significantly, or swapping to a different campaign may require a new listing or a new package.
Renewals follow the pricing and duration rules applicable at the time of renewal.
We may remove or suspend a listing if we discover it is misleading, violates policy, attracts credible complaints, or creates safety or legal risks. Where appropriate, we will notify you and give an opportunity to clarify or correct.
7) Support channels and response time targets
Support may be provided via support tickets, email, WhatsApp, phone calls, or platform messaging.
If no separate support hours are published, the default is Monday to Saturday, 8:00am to 7:00pm EAT, excluding public holidays.
Initial response targets: urgent issues such as payment confirmation, publishing failure, or incorrect listing display within 2 to 4 hours during support hours, normal enquiries within 1 working day, and non-urgent requests within 2 working days.
8) Advertiser responsibilities and compliance
You agree to: provide truthful and accurate claims, respect consumer protection principles, comply with Kenyan laws and any other applicable regulations, and respond to enquiries professionally and promptly.
You are responsible for fulfilment of your offer, including delivery, customer service, refunds, and any contracts between you and the audience. Bertum is not a party to these transactions.
9) Prohibited and restricted content
We do not allow scams, deceptive practices, fake credentials, unrealistic guarantees, pyramid schemes, or misleading “too good to be true” claims.
We may restrict or reject content that promotes harmful activities, discrimination, hate speech, illegal services, or content that is unsuitable for learners.
If a listing involves regulated services (for example accredited certifications, medical training claims, or employment agency services), you may be required to provide proof of legitimacy.
10) Payments, refunds, and service credits
Payments are based on the package selected. Because marketing placements reserve space and moderation effort, refunds are limited once a listing is approved and published.
If Bertum fails to publish an approved listing within a reasonable time without explanation, or if a technical issue on our side prevents display for a substantial portion of the paid period, we may offer an access extension, credit, or partial refund depending on the situation.
If your listing is removed due to policy violations or proven misleading claims, refunds are not guaranteed.
11) Intellectual property and permissions
You retain ownership of your brand assets and content you submit, but you grant Bertum permission to display it for marketing purposes during the agreed period. You confirm you have rights to all submitted images, videos, logos, and text.
You may not use Bertum branding in a way that suggests endorsement unless we provide written approval.
12) Limitation of liability and disclaimer
We provide placement and visibility, not guaranteed performance outcomes. We are not liable for losses arising from your business decisions, audience decisions, or third-party actions.
We are not responsible for disputes between you and customers, learners, parents, institutions, or employers who respond to your advert.
13) Force majeure
We are not responsible for service interruptions caused by events beyond reasonable control, including internet failures, hosting outages, power disruptions, or emergencies. Where possible, we will communicate promptly and offer fair adjustments such as extending the display period.
14) Changes and acceptance
We may update this SLA to improve delivery or comply with law. By submitting content, paying for, or publishing a Career & Educational Marketing listing through Bertum, you accept this SLA and any package-specific terms shown at purchase or communicated during approval.
